Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She's an American-Mexican actor. She sings as well. She was raised by her mother, in the USA. Raised with racial insults, she was made to feel unwanted. It was in her ninth grade that she gained confidence after receiving a rousing ovation in an audition. This not only increased the confidence of her, but was also a change in the direction in which she went on to pursue her professional career. She attended the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. At the age of 23 she began her career making her debut at the Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. The character in The lad from The Lake became her biggest success, and earned her an award called the Tony Award in addition to praise from critics for her performance. The recognition grew even more by appearing on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. She is known as a performer and has also released a single as well as an extended play. She is also an activist who is active for LGBT rights.
